Cat's Birthday HP Drabblethon IV
Sorted: 149 prompts! Blame the Cat(s).

Posting Instructions
- Post your drabble as a comment here.
- Before the drabble itself, please indicate...
Recipient: (the person you're writing for)
Prompt: (as given to you in this post)
Word count: (100, ideally, but we won't be strict about it because cats can't count to a hundred)
Rating: (and warnings, if any)
- Then you may post your drabble anywhere else you like, of course.
- If you find your topic confusing, go ask the person who made it up to explain.
- Art instead of writing is okay. You decide what the art equivalent of 100 words is.
- You have 24 hours to write: from midnight April 22 to midnight April 23, British time. [What time is it over there now?] Any topics still unwritten by then will be up for grabs as an open challenge for anyone.

Readers welcome! About 15,000 words of very miscellaneous drabbling will hit this post over the next 24 hours. Enjoy. :)

For marksykins

Recipient: [info]marksykins
Prompt: Neville/Luna - He's a herbologist, she's a weirdo. Together, they fight crime.
Word count: 168
Rating: G. Warning: a bad pastiche of hard-boiled crime fiction follows.

The man paused outside the cottage on the fringes of Hogsmeade. "Neville Longbottom, Forensic Herbologist," read the little sign on the door. This must be the place that had been recommended to him. He knocked on the door.

A round-faced, earnest young man opened the door and ushered him in, guided him to a seat, and began asking what sort of help he needed. As Longbottom was saying, "My fees are eight galleons a day, plus expenses," a blonde who could make a rabbi follow her into a pig's sty entered the room.

She turned to take in the visitor. "Neville, are you aware that we have a badly disguised heliopath sitting in our parlor?"

Neville pulled Luna into his arms as through the window they saw the prospective client hurry away from the cottage. "Luna my sweet, I love you and I'm glad you want to help, but in the future, please don't talk to the clients. Or at least not until after they've signed a contract."

AH! Genius. This is wonderful, wonderful pastiche, exactly what I wanted, nothing bad about it at all. Thank you so much!
