The copy-and-paste function has a lot to answer for.
Yet another twatty plagiarist at HPstories.com (formerly Death-Curse.com), obvious even to a casual summary-reader.

ETA next day: Fics taken down. Somebody's complaint must have worked.

This is something I've encountered before. Some people actually think that if you say that the fic or art you are posting is not yours, that makes it okay to alter and repost it. o_O

Wait, actually, more like...

o_O

That belief is quite sincere, and the injured outrage when one challenges it is profound.

I'll add a *headdesk* to that o_O

This is awful. It's bad enough stealing other people's work, but, having done so, THEN to have have the brass neck to 1)blatantly state as much 2)muck about with the contents.

Atrocious. Words fail me. (I've been having a hard time forcing students to face up to academic plagiarism, but this... *wails and keens*)

Heck that is far too nice! I say make a complaint to the ower of the website, since their TOS clearly states:

All fan fiction published on the board is to be of the author's own creation, any plagiarized material will be removed along with the author who plagiarized the work. HPStories.com does not condone plagiarism.

Is this just the season for fucktards? There was another problem like this on the Harry Potter Message board hosted by proboards, where a 15 year old girl took the works from 14 different authors, and then had the audacity to claim that the original authors were plagiarizing the stories 'her' friend had written (which she was posting, after changing it to suite her needs). Apparently this person tried to post a AFF first and got kicked off by the new moderator Apollo, so she took her act elsewhere.

*sighs*
Makes you wonder where they have their heads stuffed -- to believe that this sort of thing is alright.

This Alliah person gets my "bitch hat" icon.

Thanks for posting this (and to [info]adinkra for bringing it to my attention). You know, I think what bummed me out the most about this was the atrocious formatting and horrible rewritten chapter titles.

"Labyrinth of Illusion" is not my favourite of my HP stories, but it was my first and (as with all my stories) I have a special place in my heart for it. And it really pisses me off that someone thinks they can steal it from me. Yeah, I really don't care if they say "they found it on the web and wanted to share". If I wanted to share at HPstories, I'd post there. And I'd sure as hell not get someone else to do it for me!

Um .... so are you saying it was wrong of me to publish this on HP Stories & FFN?

Title: "Get down, get undressed, get pretty"
Author: Me, cross my heart and hope to die
Author notes: Title from Sisters of Mercy, slight editing to preserve highlights while omitting all the bits I didn't really understand.

Chapter One

Julius Marvolo

1855

Fortune smiled on me when Albus Dumbledore's brother was Sorted into Slytherin. As he walked over to take his seat with us for the first time - to groans from the Gryffindors and silent horror among the Slytherins - I was already considering how this situation might best be turned to my advantage. I considered so deeply that my nipples went hard.

I glanced over at the Gryffindor table, where my cousin Valery sat directly opposite Dumbledore. Apart from myself, Valery was undoubtedly the most cut male in the school; even now I could see the ripple of his triceps as he stroked a fingertip suggestively along the stem of his fork. The elder brother was calmly watching the next student under the Hat.

From the head of our table - the place I had held for a year now, against all challengers - it was hard to see anything of the new boy other than his fair hair and a pair of shoulders that would have done a professional Beater proud. I leaned back in my chair, and took off my shirt.

I knew exactly what I was going to do. The only question was where to find a gallon of coconut oil and a feather boa at this time of night.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
(I've deleted quite a lot of stuff about politics here which wasn't really essential to getting Marvolo in the buff.)
There was something I wanted from Dumbledore. Had wanted it for a long time, had run through every available measure of influence with no effect. I'd had nothing to bargain with; there was nothing he wanted from me. Now, at last, that would change. Measure of influence: I took off my shirt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

I led the boy into my own chamber, locking the door behind us and adding a Silencing Charm to my usual door-wards.

I couldn't believe I was going to do this. I didn't even like peanut butter and the last thing I needed at this delicate moment was another groin strain.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"People just shouldn't be able to do that," Dumbledore Minor whispered, shuddering. "It's... unnatural."
Belcore's expression would have been amusing if I hadn't been equally flabbergasted. Unnatural? This was downright offensive. Mind you, I was glad I'd only shown him the Floating Lotus and not the Six Legged Dog Having Congress With A Cactus.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Basically, my Slytherin colleagues weren't too pleased about all of this and I had to get brutal with them. First, I defeated the Shuttle curse they threw at me. Then I took off my shirt again. This was the core of my status here, though I rarely resorted to such blatant demonstrations of it. The core of what the glass showed me each day as I grew into who I was. The Marvolo line. Direct descendants of Salazar Slytherin. Tall and dark-haired and blessed with pecs you could crack a walnut between.

There was only one thing that could top this display of A-Grade pureblood prime pumped flesh. Have you ever heard "Wind Beneath My Wings" sung in Parseltongue? Neither had Slytherin house. It shut them up for a fair while and gave me time to write a particularly filthy letter to Lucretia Valery, relating all of the above with particular attention to the Six Legged Dog. As usual, I signed it "your loving brother Lucan" and sent it off.

The end.

When excessive heat and slow days at work give me Januaryitis, this is what happens. fee_absinthe, btw, save you the trouble of tracing the IP address. Says something about the status of TWIB that disrespecting your fic feels just as naughty & rewarding as disrespecting canon itself ... :-)
